‘IT’ Screenwriter To Develop An ‘Are You Afraid Of The Dark?’ Movie

With its wide array of entertaining, spooky campfire stories, Nickelodeon TV series Are You Afraid of the Dark? holds a special place in the hearts of many kids who grew up in ’90s. The series ended its run in 2000, but is now reportedly being revived for the silver screen.

According to Tracking Board, IT screenwriter Gary Dauberman will write a feature film reboot targeted at younger audiences. No word on whether the film will include familiar elements such as the Midnight Society or Sardo, a recurring character who sold magical items to kids from his Magic Mansion shop, or an expected release date.

Are you excited to revisit this particular ’90s touchstone or did the recent Goosebumps reboot sour you on the whole idea of making feature films out of these classic horror-themed kids’ shows? Sound off in the comments below!
