‘Fantastic Beasts’ Isn’t Out Yet, But It’s Sequel Already Has A Release Date

If you thought the Harry Potter universe was finished with the Battle of Hogwarts at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part II, you’re obviously wrong. There’s more. So much more.

A prequel of sorts, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will give us our first glimpse of the wizarding world in North America when it comes out in November. Since that film is pretty much guaranteed to earn hundreds of millions at the box office, Warner Bros. has gone right ahead and announced a release date for a sequel. To be fair, this story was always planned as a trilogy, as it followed Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in his adventures in New York City.

Fantastic Beasts 2 is slated for a November 18, 2018 release date, over two years away. According to Deadline, the movie “move deeper into an increasingly dark time for the Wizarding World, where Newt and other heroes have to decide on their allegiances.”

Fantastic Beasts isn’t the only new Potter material for the hardcore fans. There’s a stage play entitled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the script for that production has been released as a book, which had already topped most bestseller lists.
