For fans of Deadpool — Marvel’s potty-mouthed mutant mercenary — the road to seeing the character done right on-screen has been a bumpy one, to say the least. As played by Ryan Reynolds in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the quip-heavy hero that makes Spider-Man look shy in comparison was done a major disservice. Luckily, Reynolds never stopped hounding Fox and Marvel for the chance to redeem the character and the trailer for the upcoming film, which scored big at Comic-Con a few weeks ago, is finally here.
One thing’s for sure: you’ve never seen a superhero movie quite like this before.
Fox has released a standard trailer and a more explicit red band trailer and of course it’s the latter you want to watch. It really feels like this was the role Reynolds was born to play and whether or not you’re a fan of Deadpool’s unique brand of juvenile humor, it’s hard to deny that the film looks like it absolutely nails the character.
Plus, T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley) is in it, so you know that Deadpool will be a riot no matter what.
Check out the red band trailer below. Put some headphones on though because this is definitely NSFW. If you’re ears are more sensitive however, you can watch the green band trailer instead.
