‘Deadpool 2’ Release Date May Have Just Been Revealed

Fox has quietly shuffled around its release calendar for two upcoming Marvel movies, one of which is likely the sequel to Deadpool.

The release dates for the two unidentified movies are October 6, 2017 and January 12, 2018. The former title is likely Gambit, which is no longer set for a 2016 release; hardly a surprise given how turbulent the Channing Tatum-starring X-Men spin-off has been behind the scenes. Pushing the film back to 2017 can only be a good thing at this point.

The 2018 release is a little more difficult to make a prediction on, but the safe money is that it’s the sequel to this winter’s record-breaking debut of Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool. Nothing big usually releases in January, but Deadpool has proven that it is possible to have enormous success early in the year, so they may be looking to make lighting strike twice in 2018. Take into consideration that Wolverine 3 is already confirmed for a March 3, 2017 release, and it seems pretty safe to assume that we’ll be getting Deadpool 2 in less than two years. Chimichanga!
