Check Out This Awesome Rejected Poster For ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Featuring Luke Skywalker

Series hero Luke Skywalker has been conspicuously absent from pretty much all Star Wars: The Force Awakens¬†marketing material in a seeming bid by Disney and Lucasfilm to shroud his role in the film with as much secrecy as possible. And it’s been a pretty successful gambit too, as the internet is rife with theories about what’s going on with Luke, creating even more buzz for a film that’s already all but guaranteed to shatter box office records when it hits theaters this December.

Of course, Luke was also absent from the film’s beautiful poster. You know, this one:

As much as we love this poster, we have to admit that we’re more drawn to this unofficial one that’s just surfaced from graphic illustrator Adam Reif. Most of that has to do with the fact that Luke is prominently featured, but it’s also just really well done. Apparently Reif’s work was pitched to Disney at one point, who likely turned it down because they were trying to keep Skywalker close to their chest. Still, if Luke’s depiction in this poster reflects the final film in any way, we can probably scrap that ridiculous (and strangely popular) theory that Luke is actually Kylo Ren. Source:

What do you think? Was Disney right to reject this poster or should they have gone with it?
