Ben Affleck has appeared as Batman on the big-screen a few times and his performances were met with mixed feelings.
His first appearance as Batman was in Batman V Superman, which crashed and burned as far as films go, resulted in terrible reviews and critic scores. It went on to receive only 26% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Affleck was so disappointed with the reception of his performance that during interviews regarding the film a meme was born.. ‘Sad Affleck’
A source close to Affleck spoke to Hollywood Life and eluded to the point that despite the initial reception making Ben so disappointed, Affleck is eager to reprise the role and continue to perform as Batman for at least one more production.
Hollywood Life’s source stating….
“He is back in shape not only for his health but he has a new-found love on doing Batman at least one more time again. He feels he isn’t finished with what he wants to do with the character. There has been talk about replacing him, but he is now seeing what he might lose and really wants to play the character again. Especially seeing what Joaquin Phoenix is doing with the Joker character,”
The source continuing on to say….
“He would really like to take the character of Batman and visit a more serious tone and side of the character and working with someone like Joaquin would absolutely spark his creative juices. He wants to figure something out with Warner Brothers to don the cape one more time”
According to this source, Affleck has been speaking and working closely with Warner Bros. to try and make another performance come together.
The biggest issues being faced surrounding this are in regards to how Matt Reeves is approaching future Batman films; He plans on focusing the story on a younger Batman which could potentially lock Ben Affleck out of the role.
Additionally, there have been some headlines surrounding Affleck and his issues with substance abuse. To some it seems risky to set a $200 million film on the shoulders of someone going through the difficulties of substance abuse.

The 11 Greatest Batman Villains
11. Lex Luthor
We know, he’s Superman’s arch nemesis. But criminal mastermind Lex Luthor has appeared in enough Batman storylines – both comic books and in movies – to warrant inclusion on this list. Lex Luthor is so pervasive in DC Comics that one could argue he is the penultimate villain in that universe. And he has certainly given Batman a hard time over the years. Notably when the billionaire turned politician and was elected President of the United States (Donald Trump, anyone?). President Luthor schemes to take over Gotham City through a series of shady land deals, and even stages an earthquake in the city so that he can then be seen to help rebuild the shattered city. Batman, of course, thwarts Luthor’s plans. Plus, LexCorp is billed as the main competitor of Wayne Enterprises in the Batman cannon, making for some interesting exchanges between Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor as businessmen.
