We’ve known that Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord would be a part of the third Avengers film for awhile now; even before the release of 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. However, it’s remained unclear just how extensive Pratt’s role, or that of any of his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy cast mates for that matter, would be in Avengers: Infinity War, which is set to bring together pretty much every corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Well, we may not know what’s going on with the likes of Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, or any of the other Guardians in the upcoming war with Thanos, but a new rumor suggests that Pratt is going to have a pretty important role to play.
According to Schmoes Know, Pratt’s role in Avengers: Infinity War will be sizable, as Star-Lord will be the character that will help unite the Avengers and Guardians. Details regarding how Quill will accomplish this are not available at this time, but when you think about it, giving Pratt’s character a major role in Infinity War makes a lot of sense.
Setting aside the fact that Pratt has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after leading men over the last few years (which surely played a part in getting him more screen time), it’s also important to remember that Peter Quill was born on Earth, so it would make sense for him to be the bridge between the earthbound members of the Avengers and the intergalactic heroes that make up the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Before joining up with the Avengers, Star-Lord will next be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which hits theaters in May 2017. Hopefully that film will give us a better idea of how Pratt’s character figures into the Avengers: Infinity War.
