10 Actors Who Really Should Be More Famous Than They Are Via

Hollywood is full of outstanding actors and actresses who truly make you believe they are another person when you see them on the screen. Many of these actors are praised by millions of TV and movie fans for their work and often showered with awards. However, there are also some actors out there who don’t get nearly enough credit for the amazing work they do. Some of them have even appeared in critically acclaimed films and won awards, but still feel like they fit into the category of “underrated.”

This article will feature 10 people we feel are either worthy of more praise than they get, or are on the way to becoming much more famous than they already are — we’re talking about being a part of the true Hollywood elite. Some have been acting for a long time, while others are fairly new to the scene, either way, these individuals should be much more famous than they currently are. And they probably will be before too long.

10. Gina Torres

Torres has been around for over 20 years in the film and television industry, but still hasn’t turned into the leading lady that many thought she would. You would likely known Gina Torres best for her roles in TV shows such as Suits, Alias, Hannibal and many more. She has also appeared in many great action films and in the early 2000s, and she looked like she could be the next big female action star. Unfortunately, the roles just never came and she never became the household name that we feel she is talented enough to be. She plays a powerful woman arguably better than anyone else on the planet and still gets some roles and some appreciation, but not as much as we feel she deserves. Via

9. Adam Pally

Over the last decade or so, Pally has been a staple in dozens of different comedy and action films, TV shows, online videos and more. While he is likely best known for his role on the TV shows Happy Endings and The Mindy Project, it is a shame he isn’t more famous for his many other roles too. Pally is great at not only being incredibly funny, but also very likable and relatable at the same time. He is the kind of guy you just want to be friends with. While he has not been the bonafide star of the show and might only appear a few times, he shines in those limited opportunities. It would be interesting to see him be given a much larger role and see how he handles it. Via

8. O’Shea Jackson Jr.

Jackson is a rapper and actor with a father you might have heard of. He is the son of Ice Cube and many were introduced to this man after he portrayed his own father in the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton, which made over $200 million at the box office! While he may be the son of one of the most famous rapper/actors on the planet, we think Jackson is deserving of his own fame and praise. He showed he is a very talented actor and is now branching out. In fact, he appeared in the film Ingrid Goes West, as comedy-drama that won a major award at Sundance in 2017. He is still very young in the industry but if he continues with the great performances, he is well on his way to becoming a household name. Maybe call him Ice Cube Jr. for short. Via

7. Tony Revolori

Despite being barely over 20-years-old, this actor is already showing signs of brilliance. Revolori first began acting at the ripe old age of two, but didn’t get his first big break until his role in the 2014 Oscar winning film The Grand Budapest Hotel. This role garnered him a lot of attention and he was praised for his performance. Since then he has appeared in many other projects, with many more coming in the future. Even though he got his little bit of fame, he is far from a household name. I feel he deserves even more praise, and that he will very soon break out in a big way. He is such a great actor, with a lot of experience for his age and a variety of unique roles under his belt. The future is surely bright for Revolori. Via HuffPost

6. Pedro Pascal

If you are a fan of the amazing show Narcos on Netflix, you know this man as Agent Pena. In addition to his great performance in that show, Pedro Pascal has been acting in Hollywood for many years. He has appeared in shows like Game of Thrones and The Good Wife, and in films like Kingsman: The Golden Circle. He is a well versed actor that is only recently beginning to get a bit of attention and praise from the general public for his roles. He got his start over 20 years ago in this industry, so it is about time he starts to get some love. Even still, I think this bump in fame should’ve happened long ago as he has been putting on great performances for years and years. Via

5. Jean Dujardin

This is a name you likely have never heard before, but he has a face you likely know. He is a French actor, but has appeared in many Hollywood films and was the star of The Artist, one of the best films in recent memory. This silent film won a whopping five Oscars in 2012, as well as dozens of other awards. Dujardin himself also won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the film. While these sort of accolades would’ve propelled an American actor into superstardom, Dujardin is still largely unknown in North America. While most of his work is indeed done internationally, simply put, he is one of the single best actors on the planet and the fact that many people don’t even know who he is shocks me. Via

4. David Koechner

The name might not ring a bell, but if you have watched a comedic film in the last decade, there is a chance you know his face. Koechner is best known for his roles in Anchorman and The Office, where he played Chip and Todd Packer respectively. Despite these being his most famous, he has performed in dozens of others films and TV shows in the last three decades. Despite his long tenure in Hollywood and his noticeable skills as an actor, he is rarely cast as anything more than the best friend, sidekick, or the fifth or sixth lead. After all he has done and the memorable performances he has given us over the years, he deserves to be more famous than he currently is. Via HBO

3. Idris Elba

While Idris Elba may seem a bit of a weird inclusion on this list, as he is already a pretty big star, hear us out. Yes, he is quite famous, but with how talented he is, he should be one of the top five male stars in Hollywood. We’re talking in the same category as Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, etc. Elba has shown he can act in a wide range of different shows and movies, while playing a variety of different characters. He has played everything from a drug dealer, to a detective, to a commander in an African civil war. His range is unbelievable and he does incredibly well, no matter what role is in front of him. It’s not his fault The Dark Tower sucked, and he’s still the favorite (in our eyes) to take over the role as James Bond when Daniel Craig finally hangs up the keys to his Aston Martin. Via PageSix

2. Mahershala Ali

Capable of playing everything from a bad guy to a good guy (sometimes at the same time, a la Moonlight), Mahershala Ali is one of the best in the business for our money. Whether it is on the big screen or on Netflix, Ali has been busy the past decade. He has appeared in movies such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, two of the Hunger Games films and Hidden Figures. As for TV shows, he has appeared in House of Cards, Luke Cage and many more. Despite all these great peformances he has deliverd, he is nowhere near a household name for most people. But he most definitely should be. After his recent win at the Oscars for his brilliant performance in Moonlight (which was also the first Best Actor win at the Oscars for a Muslim), this man might finally be getting the attention that he has deserved for years, and is on the cusp of superstardom. 1. Ruby Rose

While Ruby Rose is fairly new to acting, don’t be surprised to see her playing big roles in the next few years. And continuing to look better and better when she does. Rose was born in Australia and is well versed in the entertainment industry as a model, television host, recording artist, and beginning in 2008, an actress. While some might know her from her modelling campaigns, she gained more notoriety as an actress when she appeared during Seasons Three and Four of Orange is the New Black. Over the past few years she has appeared in many high-profile actions films like John Wick: Chapter 2 and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. She was also cast in Pitch Perfect 3, showing her range as an actress. She has the look down, and has proven she is also capable of acting extremely well when given the right role, so the sky is the limit for this young model-turned-actress.
