2016 has been a pretty terrible year but luckily, Microsoft is closing it out with something worth getting excited about. The company has revealed their Xbox Games With Gold lineup for the month and the list is filled with notable crowd-pleasers.
Leading the pack is Criterion Games’ fantastic racing game Burnout Paradise, which has been one of the most highly requested Xbox backwards compatibility titles ever since the program was announced at E3 2015. Originally released on Xbox 360 back in January 2008, Burnout Paradise will be made free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers from Dec. 16-31 and will be playable on Xbox One.
The other heavy-hitter is the Xbox One port of Sleeping Dogs, the fantastic open-world action game put out by the now-defunct United Front Games. It will be available for the entire month of December.
Rounding out the rest of the list is Outland, a side-scrolling Xbox 360 platformer put out by Housemarque back in April 2011 and the terrifying first-person Xbox One horror game Outlast. Outland will be available from Dec. 1-15, while Outlast can be downloaded starting on Dec. 16 until the end of the month.
Sony has yet to reveal which games they will be making available to PlayStation Plus subscribers in December, but they will certainly face stiff competition with what Microsoft is bringing to the table.
