We’re still anxiously awaiting the November 17th release date of the new Star Wars: Battlefront but fortunately, the wait is about to get a bit easier thanks to some exciting news regarding the game’s upcoming beta.
While the release date of the beta has yet to be revealed, the official Star Wars: Battlefront blog has confirmed that when it does drop, it will be open to everyone who owns either a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Windows PC:
“Yes, we have a beta incoming and the final date will be announced as soon as we have the final details locked in,” writes community manager Matthew Everett. “For now, I can tell you this: the beta will consist of both our offline and online modes including co-op and split-screen co-op, and it will take place on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and via Origin for PC, so we have you covered regardless of your next generation platform of choice.”
The full details of what the beta will include can be found here, but the most exciting news may be the fact that it will contain both online and offline options for players. Players willl be able to take part in the epic Battle of Hoth online with a smattering of other players or try out the Survival Mission mode with a buddy, even in split-screen! In addition, the recently revealed Drop Zone mode will also make an appearance (think King of the Hill, but Star Wars style).
All-in-all, the Star Wars: Battlefront beta seems to be jammed with enough content to hold us over until November. We’ll have more details as they become available.
