Those who played the recent Star Wars Battlefront beta got to take the overpowered Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader for a spin, but we’ve known about their inclusion in the game for awhile now. Many were left wondering what other heroes and villains would pop up in the game and fortunately, DICE studios just revealed three new characters that will be available when the final game ships next month.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Lead Hero Designer Jamie Keen revealed that Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Emperor Palpatine will be playable. Each character has different abilities that set them apart from the others: Leia can score one-hit kills with her blaster and is built around support play. Han is about “offensive output, damage, and mobility,” while Palpatine has his trademark Force Lighting for cutting through swaths of unsuspecting Rebel troops. We’re really not looking forward to being on the receiving end of that one.
This news means that the total number of playable heroes in Battlefront sits at six, including Boba Fett, which makes us think that more will be revealed, as six seems a bit low. How about a C3PO that can shoot lasers out of his eyes; that’s canon, right?
Star Wars Battlefront comes out November 17th for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
