Nintendo To Release 20th Anniversary ‘Pokémon’ Red And Blue 3DS Bundles

In celebration of Pokémon’s 20th anniversary this year, Nintendo is dropping a pair of New Nintendo 3DS bundles that come packed in with copies of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow.

The bundle, which go on sale on February 27th, come with a red Charizard and blue Blastoise faceplates and will have a special Pokémon menu theme pre-installed on the hardware.

If you already own a 3DS and don’t quite feel the urge (however tempting) to shell out for one of these commemorative bundles but still want to play the classic games, don’t worry: Nintendo will be making all three versions available on the eShop on February 27th as well.

The only real downside to this news is that the games won’t be remakes, but they will have the additon of online play, a feature that wasn’t really feasible at the time of their original release on GameBoy.
