It’s Confirmed: No ‘Destiny’ Sequel Until 2017

The original ten-year plan for the Destiny video game franchise has seen a lot of changes since the game was released in 2014 to mixed reviews, but this is probably the biggest. Both publisher Activision and developer Bungie confirmed that the sequel to the online multiplayer shooter won’t be released this year, as had been originally expected. Instead, the plan is to release an expansion for the original game in late 2016, with the full-fledged sequel now hitting shelves sometime in 2017.
