Sony has revealed its 20 best-selling games of 2016 on the PlayStation Store and surprisingly, it wasn’t a 2016 release that topped the list!
Rocket League, the 2015 soccer-with-cars sensation that was widely considered one of the best games of that year, was the most downloaded game on the PS Store in 2016. While it’s unclear exactly why Psyonix’s game was able to top the year’s biggest games, Rocket League’s relatively low price, frequent (and free) DLC updates, and repeated discounts throughout the year surely contributed to its high popularity with PS4 owners.
