Former GTA Producer Suing Rockstar Games

According to reports, Leslie Benzies, the former head of Rockstar North who was the producer on the last several Grand Theft Auto games, as well as Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire, Manhunt, and Max Payne 3, is suing Take-Two Interactive (which owns the Rockstar studios) for $150 million in unpaid royalties, claiming he was unjustly forced out of his job with the company due to a vendetta by company higher-ups. Take-Two and Rockstar have responded by filing a counter-suit against Benzies, claiming breach of contract.

Rockstar has not released any new games since Grand Theft Auto V in 2013, and there had been speculation that they would break their silence, with the popular rumor being an announcement of a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, as early as this year’s E3.
