REPORT: Volkswagen To Debut T-Cross CUV At Geneva Auto Show

Volkswagen is reportedly ready to enter the compact crossover vehicle segment with a model called the T-Cross, which it will likely debut at the Geneva Auto Show coming up in March.

With this vehicle, whose styling will likely be similar to that of the T-Roc concept (pictured above), Volkswagen hopes to take advantage of the current popularity of CUVs by challenging rival offerings like the Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Juke. And according to an anonymous “high-placed manager” within the company, production of the T-Cross could start as early as 2018.

This source also told Autocar that Volkswagen “will position production versions of the T-Cross and T-Roc underneath the Tiguan and Touareg in a part of the market that is currently experiencing large growth for SUV models, including Europe.” But the company doesn’t intend to stop at just these two new models. Some reports indicate that Volkswagen will expand its crossover lineup by as many as six vehicles over the course of the next several years.
